The technical term for CBD is cannabidiol. It’s derived from the hemp or marijuana plant, but it’s non-intoxicating. CBD is actually a powder that’s combined with a carrier oil and it’s often mixed with coconut oil, hemp oil, or olive oil.

CBD can also be combined with alcohol to create a tincture. This is a great product, but it’s not great to use on the skin. The alcohol can be too drying, so make sure to use CBD oil and not a CBD tincture that has alcohol in it.

Acne-Prone Skin

When used in skin care products, CBD oil can’t get you high; it doesn’t contain any THC. It’s extracted from the stalks, stems, leaves, or flowers of the hemp plant. These parts of the plant are so low in THC that they can’t even be detected in a test.

Hemp seed oil is not the same as CBD oil. Hemp seed oil has many skin benefits, but hemp seed oil only has small amounts of CBD in it, and sometimes it doesn’t have any CBD, so make sure to watch out for this!

Our skin has cannabinoid receptors, and they are responsible for telling our brains when we experience pain, itching, or another external stimulus. CBD oil interacts with those receptors on our skin. When applied topically, CBD can help the body regulate itself, which can help to reduce eczema and other skin conditions.

Acne can cause inflammation in the skin. CBD oil is a natural anti-inflammatory, so it can reduce inflammation when used topically. Using CBD skin care products can make breakouts look less noticeable because it calms inflammation.

CBD can also reduce oil production in your skin and may help balance its production. Excess oil production can lead to acne blemishes by clogging pores, so CBD can also help reduce new acne blemishes from ever even forming.

Anti-Aging

CBD oil is high in antioxidants. These antioxidants neutralize free radicals, which can reduce the signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles. CBD also reduces inflammation, which can reduce wrinkles and improve your overall skin tone.

If you suffer from sensitive skin, you have to be careful when using new skin care products because many active ingredients cause redness or irritation. CBD oil, however, is soothing for your skin. It can soothe your sensitive skin and reduce redness.

CBD oil can reduce dryness and even itching associated with dry skin. Since CBD naturally reduces inflammation, it can improve dryness from dermatitis, eczema, and psoriasis.

Sensitive Skin

Since CBD skin care is so popular right now, there are some brands that are jumping on the bandwagon and not producing high-quality products. Here are some things to look for when choosing CBD skin care products:

If you’re feeling nervous about trying CBD in your skin care routine, you can go with a professional and get a CBD facial at a medspa. In this way, you’ll be able to test out the effects of CBD and ask an aesthetician about the best products out there as well as how to actually apply them.
